CITYWIDE INCLUSIVE SANITATION PLANNING IN CHANGUNARYAN MUNICIPALITY

500B Solutions developed the Citywide Sanitation Plan for Changunarayan Municipality and subsequently supported the implementation of prioritized interventions to strengthen faecal sludge management and improve on-site sanitation systems. As a part of this effort, the team prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP), providing a technical and financial blueprint for its implementation. Stakeholder consultations were conducted to build consensus on the FSTP site, ensuring alignment with municipal priorities and community needs. Additionally, 500B supported the implementation of sanitation bylaws to strengthen regulatory frameworks for sustainable FSM. To complement the recommended upgrades, the project also demonstrated innovative on-site sanitation solutions, introducing alternative technologies suited to diverse local contexts. Through these interventions, the project contributed to improved sanitation governance, enhanced service delivery, and the adoption of sustainable FSM practices within Changunarayan Municipality.
