500B Solutions led Objective 2 of the program, focusing on safe sanitation through faecal sludge management (FSM). As part of this initiative, 500B developed twelve City Sanitation Plans (CSP) for Thakurbaba, Rajapur, Lamkichuha, Dullu, Aathabis, Khandachakra, Madhuwan, Panchapuri, Chamunda Bindrasaini, Chhayanath Rara, Kamalbazar, and Panchadewal Binayak. The team also designed two Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTPs) in Madhuwan and Dullu and prepared ten business plans—covering Khandachakra, Aathabis, Chamunda Bindrasaini, Dullu, Panchapuri, Lamkichuha, Thakurbaba, Tikapur, Madhuwan, and Rajapur—to support the sustainable operation of FSM systems.

Additionally, 500B formulated sanitation bylaws for four municipalities (Thakurbaba, Lamkichuha, Dullu, and Aathabis) to strengthen regulatory frameworks. The team also conducted specialized training programs, equipping masons with knowledge on standard containment designs and training both manual and mechanical faecal sludge emptiers to enhance efficiency and safety in service delivery.

Through these interventions, the project empowered local governments to make informed decisions based on evidence-driven sanitation planning, regulate service provision effectively by institutionalizing FSM frameworks, and enhance accountability in service delivery. Furthermore, by strengthening the capacity of local service providers, the initiative contributed to improved public health outcomes and environmental protection through safer and more efficient FSM practices.
